Under general supervision, performs skilled mechanical maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and
repair work in a modern wastewater treatment facility with remote pumping stations; assists in the
development of programs for preventive and corrective maintenance, and improvements of all
mechanical systems and equipment

The selected candidate will work under the engineering division’s process team and will provide support to in-house process research and development projects and Operational enhancements. Some of the key tasks include the operation of lab-scale and pilot-scale processes, sample collections, laboratory analysis, data analysis, literature review, and report writing. Examples of current projects include anaerobic digestion optimization, thickening process optimization, biosolids biodrying and pyrolysis, sidestream and mainstream nutrient removal, energy optimization, etc.

Under the supervision of an Operation’s Supervisor and monitoring by a Senior Operator, the Operator operates, inspects, and performs routine operations and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment in connection with the continuous operation of a modern activated sludge wastewater treatment plant. Operators are required to work an assigned 10 hour/4-day shift that rotates every 4-months.
