SVCW 50th Badge

2025 marks a truly special milestone, we’re celebrating 50 years of service!

A special thanks to all who have been part of the journey:

Our founders, team members, retirees, Commissioners, partners, and consultants. We’re so proud to be trailblazers, five decades strong; we couldn’t be more excited for all that’s to come.

On any given day in the San Francisco Bay, you can spot kayakers, wind surfers, and swimmers, along with sailboats and yachts that skim the vast stretch of water. With stunning backdrops of the San Francisco cityscape, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and Treasure Island, and scores of wildlife, fish, waterfowl, and shorebirds that make the bay their home, it is one of the most beautiful in the world.

At Silicon Valley Clean Water, we’re dedicated to keeping the bay clean, safe, and environmentally healthy. Our charter is to convey, treat, and clean wastewater before it flows into the bay. Our driving force is to protect public health and the environment. For 50 years, this has been at the heart of what we do.

SVCW is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA), responsible for conveying and treating wastewater from four mid-peninsula communities: Belmont, Redwood City, San Carlos, and the West Bay Sanitary District. Our ~45-acre facility in Redwood Shores manages wastewater for 220,000+ residents in these communities—around the clock, 365 days a year.
